Lewis Hires SVP of Strategy and Corporate Development to Accelerate Growth

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK — February 27, 2023 — Lewis Tree Service, one of the leading providers of vegetation management services in the United States, has appointed Jamie Garrett as its new Senior Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development. Garrett brings more than 20 years of experience as a global finance executive to Lewis, with success in previous leadership roles spanning the energy, industrial gas, and agribusiness/food industries. In her new position, she will work with the Lewis leadership team to develop plans to expand into new markets and lead inorganic growth opportunities, while spearheading efforts to deepen relationships with existing customers.

“We’re excited to add Jamie to our leadership team,” said Lewis CEO Leslie Kass. “She brings a wealth of experience to the organization and will be instrumental to accelerating our next phase of growth. I look forward to working with Jamie to expand Lewis’ enterprise into new markets and lines of business while continuing to deliver value to our customers and employee-owners.”

Garrett has a proven track record of developing business strategies to meet financial targets and increase productivity. Prior to joining Lewis, Garrett led corporate development initiatives for several large corporations. Most recently, she served as Senior Manager of Strategy at Accenture, where she focused on post-merger integrations. She has spent much of her career advocating for continuous improvement as a key to unlocking growth.

“Being improvement-minded allows us to adopt a growth mindset, to see things through a different lens and it challenges us to apply concepts in novel ways,” said Garrett. “This might not come naturally. We must learn to be more open-minded and receptive to the experiences, opinions and contributions of others. This can be a powerful force that drives business strategy, reinforces culture and improves financial performance.”

Garrett earned a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and two master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, one in finance from The Wharton School and the other in Latin American studies. In addition to her corporate positions, Garrett serves on multiple boards in the Houston area such as the Ronald McDonald House Charities and The Justice HUB, focusing on education equity. She is also an advisor to 8 Million Stories, who provides opportunities to vulnerable youth through access to education, skills training and employment..
