Integrated vegetation management programs use herbicide applications to balance the use of cultural, biological, and physical procedures for controlling undesirable species. At the same time, desirable low growing species such as shrubs, herbs, grasses, and ferns are promoted.
To maintain the safety and reliability of electrical infrastructure, Lewis Tree Service may cut or apply herbicide to healthy, non-compatible vegetation to avoid future encroachment into the equipment. Damaged, poorly structured, or weak trees may require additional pruning or removal. After inspection the following year, additional cutting, stump treatments, or foliar applications with approved herbicides may be made (when and where appropriate) to prevent regrowth and ensure adherence to utility specifications.
